Many golf courses experience lower rounds, or no rounds, during the “off season.†This allows the Golf Course Equipment Manager and staff to shift their priorities from the daily routines experienced during the growing season to an off season mode. The timing of the off season mode and activities performed during same are governed by region. In fact, the term “off season†is quite misleading with those working in moderate climates saying there is no such thing. Others would argue that the off season is just as busy as the rest of the year. A fitting analogy would be a sports team. Be it baseball, football, hockey, or racing, a large amount of preparation goes into a comparatively small amount of game time.
