In order to control the growth rate of the grass and to ensure turfgrass plants are as healthy as possible, turfgrass managers must ensure that all essential elements are available to the grass in just the right amounts. This is complicated on golf course putting greens because many greens are constructed with a sand rootzone and are topdressed with sand, creating a rootzone with relatively low nutrient levels. In this webcast, Micah Woods, Ph.D., will explain how to estimate which and how much of the nutrient elements are required by the turf, how much is available in the soil, and how much is required as fertilizer.
