Education Points: 0.2

For more than 20 years, Thomas A. Nikolai, Ph.D., has conducted research on the impact that cultural and mechanical practices have on green speed and turfgrass health. This 90-minute green speed update will include greensmowing management research performed over the past two years, including the impact of frequency of clip (FOC), bedknife behind center distance adjustments (BCD), and forward- and counter-rotating brushes. He will also provide an update on cultural management practices based on studies over the past four years that examined the impact of different fertilizer carriers, irrigation regimes and wetting agents on green speed and turfgrass performance.
