About the instructors
Michael L. Agnew, Ph.D., is a technical manager for Syngenta Turf & Landscape, and former associate professor and extension turfgrass specialist at Iowa State University. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in horticulture, and a doctorate in horticulture with a specialization in turfgrass science and plant stress physiology from Kansas State University.

Lisa Beirn, Ph.D., research and development field scientist for Syngenta Lawn & Garden, will be a special guest presenter. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Cook College, Rutgers University and her master’s and doctorate in Plant Biology from Rutgers University, with an emphasis in turfgrass pathology.
