About the instructors
Michael L. Agnew, Ph.D., is a technical manager for Syngenta Turf & Landscape, and former associate professor and extension turfgrass specialist at Iowa State University. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in horticulture, and a doctorate in horticulture with a specialization in turfgrass science and plant stress physiology from Kansas State University.
Lisa Beirn, Ph.D., research and development field scientist for Syngenta Lawn & Garden, will be a special guest presenter. She received her bachelorâ€™s degree in Biological Sciences from Cook College, Rutgers University and her masterâ€™s and doctorate in Plant Biology from Rutgers University, with an emphasis in turfgrass pathology.
