Tall fescue is a popular turfgrass for home lawns throughout the U.S. In North Carolina, it dominates the home landscape. Jim Kerns, Ph.D., associate professor and extension specialist at NC State University, has worked with a program to refine disease management strategies for tall fescue home lawns for five years. In this 60-minute webinar, presented by the Oregon Tall Fescue Commission, Kerns covers research on disease management in tall fescue that you can apply to tall fescue on your golf course as well. Kerns and his team focused on the factors affecting brown patch development, which include fertility, wetting agents, and fungicides. Now, they have also started to investigate gray leaf spot management in tall fescue. Listen in to learn more about this type of turfgrass as you consider it for new parts of your golf course.
