October 08, 2013

This is our second Healthy Turf, Healthy Tomorrow Plant Health Webinar, sponsored by Bayer.
In this webinar we will take a “bottom up” approach to plant health by examining soil and nutrient management strategies that play a critical role in optimizing the overall health of turfgrass plants. Doug Soldat, Ph.D., will kick off the webinar with a guided tour of the USDA web soil survey, including tips on how you can use the tool to better understand your course and enhance your communication with golfers and other interested parties. We will explore the latest soil, water, and air management strategies to improve plant health. Delving deeper into the influence of soil nutrition on plant health, we will then take a glimpse into the future and discuss how a better understanding of soil biology may help us grow healthier plants.
Doug Soldat is an Associate Professor and UW-Extension Specialist in the Department of Soil Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
