DMI Chemistry 101

Matt Giese and Lane Tredway, Ph.D., will explore the DMI subgroup of sterol biosynthesis inhibitors and their use for turfgrass disease management. They will focus on DMI fungicide mode of action, new types of DMI fungicides available, best practices and use for the products, and managing DMI resistance issues.
About the instructors
Matt Giese, technical manager for Syngenta, with responsibilities for turf and landscape in the Midwest. He provides agronomic consulting and support to Syngenta customers in 15 states across the Midwest, and also works closely with university scientists and industry researchers in testing, developing and labeling new products, formulations and agronomic programs. He received a master of science degree in turfgrass management and a bachelor of science degree in agronomy from the University of Nebraska.
Lane Tredway, Ph.D., is a technical manager for Syngenta, with responsibilities for turf and landscape in the southeastern U.S. He was formerly an associate professor and extension specialist in the department of plant pathology at North Carolina State University. He received his doctorate in plant pathology from the University of Georgia, a master of science degree in plant biology from Rutgers, and a bachelor of science degree in agronomic science from Penn State University.
