Positive Environmental Actions for Your Golf Course
July 22, 2014
Education Points: 0.1
Syngenta is dedicated to helping superintendents protect natural ecosystems and reduce resource consumption while preserving turf playability. With tools and programs such as Operation Pollinator and GreenCast® EcoMeasures™, golf course superintendents can increase the sustainable management of their turf and resources. Since 2001, Operation Pollinator has provided golf course managers the support to establish and manage attractive wildflower habitats crucial for pollinating insects. Research efforts lead by Dan Potter, Ph.D., professor of Entomology at the University of Kentucky Turfgrass Research Center, and Walt Osborne, key account manager at Syngenta, have prompted more than 60 courses across 20 states to incorporate Operation Pollinator on their courses.
Syngenta also offers the EcoMeasures tool, which empowers golf courses to measure and identify energy consumption. EcoMeasures helps course managers benchmark and track environmental performance as well as validate improvements, by estimating a golf course's gross and net greenhouse gas emissions.
In this 60-minute webinar, you’ll learn more from Dan Potter, Ph.D., and Walt Osborne about implementing Operation Pollinator and the EcoMeasures tool on your course.
